Stud Hagalyckan means translated The stud of field happiness.
The stud established in 1981 and has bred both Swedish warmblood, Shetland and are now breeding Connemara ponies since 1994.
Swedish Warmblod at first with three brood mares. The mare Romina won the price of Best three year old of all breeds 1990 in our district and she got a breeding diploma.
The Shetlandponies came along as the children got interested and the breeding followed as a natural continuantion. From 12 shown three year old ponies, seven got a breeding diploma. After having leased stallion for a couple of years we bought our own, Kölnäs Camillo RS 301. Camillo is a really good pony with lots of performance. He has competed in showjumping, trotting and are the highest rated for loose jumping of all shown Shetlandponies in Sweden. Today he lives in Finland and we only got one Sheltand mare at the stud right now. She will stay here for as long as she lives. She is the last fily from Fay of Marshwood RS 1025 and out of the very good stallion Lakris RS 226.
A Connemara pony was bought in 1992, the mare So-Nice RC 446. She was the start of our breeding of Connemara ponies. Although she "only" left us one foal she was a brilliant pony and she is sadly missed as she was taken away from us far to early. Stallions standing at the stud has been, Dale Haze RC 57, Öxenholm Bobby RC 42 and since autumn 2006 the irish born stallion Castleside JJ RC-IRE 1047.
On our farm we also have black and brown sheep of The Swedish Fine Wool breed. A few bantam Cochin of colour yellow and five ducks of Swedish Blue Duck.
Dogs has been in the family always although the breeds has varied. Saluki are the dogs which we breed with the prefix Izania today.
